Photograph Everything
Before you move a single thing — take photos. The broken window from outside, the glass on the seats, the interior, the door panel, anything pried or damaged. Wide shots and close-ups. Insurance adjusters and police both want them, and you can't recreate the scene once you clean it.
File the Police Report
Call your local non-emergency line — Clayton County, Jonesboro PD, Morrow PD, whoever covers where the car was parked. Most insurers require a report number for a comprehensive claim, and you generally can't go back and add one days later. It takes ten minutes and it's free.
Inventory What's Gone
Check the glovebox, console, trunk, under the seats, and the door pockets. Write down everything missing while it's fresh.
Don't Vacuum It Yourself
Tempered auto glass shatters into thousands of razor-edged cubes, and a shop vac throws them right back into the air. More importantly — most of that glass is inside the door cavity, not on the seat. You can't reach it. Left there, it jams the window regulator and rattles for years.
Don't Tape a Bag Over It
A trash bag and duct tape lasts about one Georgia thunderstorm. Water gets into the door and reaches the regulator motor, wiring harness, and speaker. That turns a glass bill into an electrical bill. It also tells anyone walking by that this car has already been hit once and is easy to hit again.

How fast can you replace my smashed window?
Most door glass is replaced the same day you call, and the install itself runs 60–90 minutes. Call with your year, make, model, and which window — we'll tell you straight whether it's today or tomorrow. We don't promise same-day and then leave you hanging.
Can I drive my car with the window missing?
Short distances in dry weather, carefully — but don't leave it that way. Rain gets into the door and reaches the window regulator, wiring, and speaker, turning a glass repair into an electrical repair. A car with a missing window is also a magnet for a second break-in. If you'd rather not drive it at all, we'll come to you.
Should I file an insurance claim?
Depends on your deductible. A single door glass is often cheaper than the deductible itself, which makes a claim pointless. If multiple windows or your windshield are involved, or your deductible is low, filing makes sense — and comprehensive claims typically don't raise rates like an at-fault accident. Do you really clean all the glass out?
Yes, including the part you can't see. When tempered glass shatters, most of it falls down inside the door cavity and settles on the regulator and track. Shops that only vacuum the seat leave that behind — and you'll hear it rattling and grinding every time you roll the window down for the next two years. We pull the panel and clean the cavity.
Why do I get free tint with the replacement?
Because we're a tint shop first — 11+ years of it. Your other windows are already tinted, so a bare replacement pane sticks out. Adding tint to that one window takes us a few minutes and a bit of film, and it saves you booking a second appointment somewhere else and paying twice. It's the whole reason doing glass and tint in one shop matters.
What if they stole stuff from my car too?
File the police report and list every item — that's what the report is for, and homeowner's or renter's insurance sometimes covers stolen personal property from a vehicle (auto insurance usually doesn't). If a garage remote, house key, or anything with your address was taken, secure your home first. We'll handle the glass; that part can wait an hour.
Will the new glass look different from my other windows?
Not when we're done. We source VIN-accurate glass matching your vehicle's original spec, and then tint it to match the shade of your existing windows. Side by side, you won't be able to tell which window was replaced.
How do I lower the odds of it happening again?
The overwhelming majority of these are opportunistic — someone walking a lot looking through windows. Leave nothing visible, not even a charging cable or an empty bag (they'll break glass to check). Park in light. Take the garage remote inside. Darker tint on the rear windows also genuinely helps, since they can't case what they can't see — and that's something we can handle in the same visit.
